Filippo Veschi

Hi! I'm Filippo from Perugia, Italy, currently living in Tokyo! My two biggest passions are otaku culture and mountain hiking, so i feel right at home in Japan! I've been an anime fan since the 90's and back in my home country i worked for the biggest manga distribution company so i have a deep knowledge of otaku culture and the trends in everything anime & manga.

And if your tired of steel, glass and concrete, i'll make you discover another side of Tokyo. I love hiking and i'm a member of the italian alpine club (CAI) and since 2023 a professional hiking guide associated with AIGAE (the italian association of outdoor guides). I speak fluently both Italian and english and i'm currently studying Japanese, aiming for the JLPT N3 this December.

I love exploring both the Tokyo urban jungle and the impressive natural wonders of the japanese countryside. My favourite areas of Tokyo are definitely Harajuku and Shinjuku, some of my favorite shops are there and I know all the best backstreets!
For the rural side I simply adore places in Saitama prefecture like Hanno. It's a real hidden gem. And if you like me are a fan of the anime Encouragement of Climb/Yama no Susume, i can definitely show you around all the places from the series!
