Heya! My name is Todd Ward and I’m originally from St. Louis, Missouri in the United States. I came to Japan in 2004 to live and teach in Kyoto. I have now lived in and around Kyoto for close to two decades.
I love western Japan and really enjoy learning and teaching about its history and experiencing the depth of culture that exists here.
I have taught elementary, junior high, high school, and university here in Kansai and am also a TTRPG designer.
I speak decent conversational Japanese in the Kansai dialect and have a fourth-degree black belt in Okinawan Karate, a first-degree black belt in Okinawan weaponry, and have studied numerous other martial arts casually..
I am familiar with traditional Japanese culture, popular culture, and a variety of subcultures.
