Hey, I’m Giovanni (Gio).
I live in Japan and spend most of my time exploring and studying how Japanese daily life, food, traditions, and culture all fit together. I love showing people the Japan that locals experience and enjoy,not just the famous spots, but the small details that make Japan unique!
I speak English, Spanish, and Japanese, and I enjoy helping visitors feel comfortable navigating things that honestly are pretty confusing at first, like customs, shrines, food culture, or just how things work day to day here. I’m big on context and stories(I'm a history buff), why things are the way they are, and not just what you’re looking at on a surface level. There's more to Japan than meets the eye.
I like to think of myself as a laid-back and easy to talk to person, so no need to hesitate to ask me any questions you might have, no matter how specific or outlandish they might be. Some guests want history, some want food, some want good conversation, and some just want to wander and take in all of the Japanese atmosphere. I'm happy to go with your pace and interests. Think of it as exploring with a local friend who knows what’s going on.
