Japan's food sample industry has been producing these replicas for nearly a century, and the street that supplies almost every restaurant in the country is right here in Tokyo.
This tour takes you through Kappabashi, the wholesale kitchen district where chefs come to stock up on everything from knives to the display food in their windows. Then you make your own food sample from scratch, using the same materials and techniques the professionals use. After the workshop, your Local Expert takes you deeper into Kappabashi or toward the backstreets of Asakusa, depending on where you want the day to go.
